Jorien Zoon – Chair

Hi all,
My name is Jorien and I am the chair of NSKAD this academic year. As chair, I am the face of the choir; both to the members and to the outside world. For example, I have the privilege of doing the opening remarks at concerts. I also organise our General Members’ Assembly, where votes are taken on repertoire, for example.
Besides singing alto in NSKAD, I have also been playing the flute for more than 15 years. I have therefore always played in orchestras, until I moved to Nijmegen and discovered NSKAD there. This was a whole new and very instructive experience for me! I have now been singing with NSKAD for more than 1.5 years and I can now sing well from sight and have much more singing technique than in the beginning. I can therefore recommend everyone to give a choir a try (and specifically NSKAD, of course!).
Madeleine Klaus – Secretary of internal affairs

Hi! My name is Madeleine, I am 19 and am filling the role of internal secretary this year. Apart from the choir which I joined almost a year and a half ago now, I’m in my second year of psychology at Radboud. While I sang in other choir before coming here, the NSKAD has been invaluable in improving my singing, and it has been wonderful to share this hobby with the many fun people in this choir.
Next to the choir and my studies I spend most of my time reading or meeting up with friends.
Wija Oosterveld – Treasurer

Hi! My name is Wija Oosterveld and I am the treasurer of NSKAD for this year. After a bit of an unstable start, I am now happy to be settled in this position. Even though, it is only my first year at the choir, I am really happy that I got to meet these wonderful people and enjoy all the activities we have together. Next to being in the board, I am currently busy with my final year of studying Biomedical Sciences at the Radboud University doing my final internship. In my studies I did not have a lot of experience with finance, so I am happy to learn more about it. In my free time I like to borrel with my friends and go on adventures together. Like going to a random city or explore nature. I look forward to the rest of the year and performing with the NSKAD members.
Sacha Verbruggen – Commissioner of artistic and material affairs

Hi, I am Sacha, 21 years old and the NSKAD’s commissioner of artistic and material affairs. I have been singing with our beautiful choir for 1.5 years. In this short time, I have already had the opportunity to experience many fun things with the people who make up NSKAD. As a student in a student choir, I am of course also studying, currently in the third year of Biomedical Sciences. In addition, you can often find me in a sports hall screaming my lungs out while playing volleyball. Luckily (for my fellow board members) I also have a quieter (and less loud) side and I also find it really great to read a good book or go for a walk in the woods!
Len Samson – Secretary of external affairs

Hello dear people, my name is Len, I am 21 years old and this year I am secretary of external affairs. I am proud to be a tenor, actually baritone (aren’t we all…). For as long as I can remember, I have loved singing. From the age of six I sang classical, only a few octaves higher back then. After my voice broke during puberty, I swapped singing for the bass guitar. As I have always really liked singing, I joined the NSKAD as soon as I became a student.
Besides my activities with the choir, I study sociology and like to cycle. Although I really enjoy cycling in the region around Nijmegen, I prefer to make long cycling trips. I am really looking forward to the rest of the year with the choir!
